Revealed: Big update on David Moyes quitting West Ham – sources
David Moyes is still planning to leave West Ham at the end of the season regardless of the club’s sack threat, sources have told Football Insider.
It has been reported that Irons chiefs could dismiss the Scot if his side loses the Europa Conference League final to Fiorentina next week.
For his part, Moyes wants the marquee clash to be his final match in charge irrespective of the game’s outcome.
His future now takes on an intriguing backdrop to the club’s first European final since 1976.
Football Insider revealed on 20 May that Moyes is planning on the match being his West Ham swansong.
That counted as a major surprise given the team’s finale to the season, which included avoiding relegation with relative comfort.
He is believed to want to leave the club on his own terms and return to his family home in Lancashire.
Another major factor in his thinking is that he has lost two key allies at West Ham in recent seasons, trusted assistants Alan Irvine and Stuart Pearce.
Moyes has been in charge of the Hammers for nearly four years after his appointment as manager in December 2019.
He also experienced a six-month stint in charge of the London side in the 2017/18 season, when he steered the club clear of relegation.

The Hammers hierarchy decided against hiring Moyes on a permanent basis but returned to acquire his services in 2019 after Manuel Pellegrini was sacked.
Moyes currently has a 42.79 per cent win rate across his two stints as West Ham manager with 89 wins in 208 matches.
