Revealed: Brentford submit £13m Diallo bid after West Ham make move
Brentford have tabled a £13m bid for Strasbourg striker Habib Diallo as they look to beat West Ham to a deal, sources have told Football Insider.
Diallo is a target for a number of Premier League clubs this summer after banging in 20 goals in the French top division Ligue 1 last season.
Brentford are believed to have now submitted an offer for Diallo as they step up their search for a replacement for the banned Ivan Toney.
West Ham have also registered their interest in a deal for Diallo, as revealed by Football Insider (9 July).
Manager David Moyes has made it clear he wants to sign a new centre-forward, while there is also strong interest in the player from Crystal Palace.
But Brentford are pushing hard for a deal and have the greatest need, with striker Toney missing the first half of next season as he serves his eight-month ban that runs until January 2024.
On 30 May, Football Insider revealed that an unnamed Premier League club submitted an offer to Strasbourg for the striker.
The 28-year-old’s contract at the Ligue 1 clubs runs until 2025 after joining from fellow French side Metz in 2020.
Diallo netted 20 goals across 38 appearances for Strasbourg in a campaign that saw them finish 15th in the French top flight and 14 points clear of the relegation zone.
