Celtic are set to lose another senior centre-back for next season as Jack Hendry finalises a loan move to KVV Oostende.
The Scottish champions have given the green light for the defender to head to the Belgian side after failing to make an impression under Neil Lennon.
A Celtic source has told Football Insider that the club have accepted KVV Oostende’s loan bid for Hendry and he has flown out to Belgium to tie up the transfer.
The former Dundee defender will undergo a medical and complete what is expected to be a season-long loan deal.
It will give Hendry the chance to revitalise a career that has nosedived over the last 18 months.
He had a loan last season at Melbourne City but that was wrecked by a knee injury.
Hendry was hailed as a huge talent by former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers when he was signed from Dundee in January 2018.
But he has made just one of his 27 Hoops appearances since Lennon took over as manager and will now become the latest centre-back to head out of the club, temporarily at least.
Jozo Simunovic was released at the end of May when his contract expires and that means there are now just three senior central defenders at the club – Christopher Jullien, Kristoffer Ajer and Nir Bitton.
In other Celtic news, it can be REVEALED there has been a huge development in the club’s new contract talks with Odsonne Edouard.
