Revealed: Celtic’s stance on backing Wilfried Nancy in January transfer window
Celtic will have to back Wilfried Nancy financially in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Nancy is expected to be appointed by Celtic imminently, coming in from Columbus Crew in the MLS as Brendan Rodgers’ permanent replacement.
Martin O’Neill has been in temporary charge of the Hoops, and they currently sit second in the Scottish Premiership, seven points adrift of Hearts with a game in hand.
Sources say that Celtic will have to back Nancy when the window reopens, to give them any chance of turning their season around.

Celtic need attacking reinforcements
Sources say that the Hoops are desperate to bring in attacking reinforcements in January, as they look to challenge Hearts for the Scottish Premiership title.
Kelechi Iheanacho made the move to Celtic as a free agent back in September, but the former Leicester City striker is currently out injured.
It means that the Glasgow giants are still searching for someone to fill the void left by Kyogo Furuhashi, who departed for Rennes last January.
The Scottish side are also looking to bring in a winger when the window reopens.
Celtic race Sunderland for midfielder
Meanwhile, Celtic and Sunderland are in the running to sign Morocco Under-20 marvel Hossam Essadak in January.

Midfielder Essadak featured in his country’s Under-20s World Cup victory in October, beating Argentina in the final.
Consequently, the 20-year-old is now on the radars of several top clubs, including the Hoops and the Black Cats.
