Revealed: Fulham ready to accept record £50m-plus Mitrovic fee – sources

Fulham are becoming increasingly resigned to losing star man Aleksandar Mitrovic to Al-Hilal this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Saudi Pro League outfit have seen their first two offers for the 28-year-old rejected, but are set to return with an offer worth around £50million.

Mitrovic is training alone despite joining Fulham on their pre-season tour of the United States.

The Cottagers are keen to maximise the Serbia international’s value if he is to leave – while the striker is trying to force the club to sanction a sale.

According to Sky Sports (14 July), Mitrovic has personally contacted Fulham chief Tony Khan to ask him to accept an offer this summer.

A £50million bid would represent both a record fee for a Saudi club as well as a club-record sale for Fulham.

Football Insider has been told by a well-placed source that Mitrovic is set to get his wish – with the west London outfit now ready to face life without their talisman.

The former Newcastle man joined Fulham in 2018 on an initial loan deal before making a permanent switch for a reported fee of around £27million.

He has since netted 111 goals in 205 outings, offering up 22 assists.

Mitrovic netted 15 strikes last season as Marco Silva’s side consolidated their Premier League status with a 10th-place finish.

Midfield star Joao Palhinha is also the subject of big-money interest this summer.

Football Insider revealed last week (18 July) that Fulham have warned West Ham about making another move for Palhinha after rejecting their opening £45million bid.

In other news, Fulham close to agreeing £33million double deal.
