Revealed: Gianluca Scamacca won’t play for West Ham again as terms agreed

Gianluca Scamacca is in talks to join Roma on a loan-to-buy deal and is not expected to play for West Ham again, sources have told Football Insider.

He has agreed terms with the Serie A club but West Ham have yet to agree a fee.

Nevertheless, the London club are expected to eventually do so, and it is anticipated by sources that Scamacca will complete a move back to Italy soon.

Roma have made various offers, including a £4million loan fee with a £20m obligation to buy at the end of the season.

The forward joined the Hammers last summer for £35.5m but had a wretched debut season which was disrupted by injuries.

West Ham have told him he can leave this summer but their asking price and the need to secure a replacement have put a potential transfer in jeopardy.

The Hammers are also on the verge of losing striker Michail Antonio in the coming months, which would further deplete their attacking options for next season.

On 22 July, Football Insider revealed that the 33-year-old is keen to quit the Irons in favour of a move to Steven Gerrard’s Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq.

It is believed that David Moyes’ side won’t stand in the way of what would be a lucrative move for the Jamaica international in the twilight years of his career.

Football Insider has learned than an offer of £10m could be enough for the Saudi side to secure Antonio’s signature.
