Revealed: Harry Kane could be gone in days after new Tottenham development
Negotiations over the sale of Harry Kane are set to accelerate with Tottenham now willing to cash in on their talisman, sources have told Football Insider.
As such, it is believed Kane could now depart before the start of the 2023-24 campaign – which sees the Lilywhites take on Brentford on 13 August.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (25 July) that the 29-year-old will be sold this summer if he doesn’t sign a new contract with Spurs.
Tottenham have offered the striker a new contract which would not only improve his current £200,000-per-week wages but also make him one of the Premier League’s top earners – but are yet to seal an agreement.
New Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is keen to see a resolution in the long-running saga as soon as possible as he attempts to get off to a strong start at his new club.
The Australian is expected to receive a large percentage of any potential fee to secure a replacement for Kane – and will want to get any new signing up to speed in a timely fashion.
Tottenham are believed to be holding out for a fee of £100million for Kane.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (24 July) that Man United is his preferred destination – but the forward recognises negotiations are likely to be difficult with Spurs reluctant to sell to a Premier League rival.
Kane is also wanted by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich – with manager Thomas Tuchel a long-term admirer of the hitman.

Sources told Football Insider on Monday (24 July) that Bayern are preparing to submit a third bid worth nearly £100million after seeing two offers rejected.
The England captain has been training with Tottenham during their pre-season preparations and played 45 minutes during a friendly with West Ham last week (18 July).
