Revealed: How many games Vitor Pereira will be given to save his job at Wolves
Wolves have had a dreadful start to the season so far and are now preparing for what is already shaping up as a crucial relegation clash against Burnley.
Vitor Pereira‘s side lost 2-0 to Sunderland last time out, meaning they are still without a win in the league, and have picked up just two points from eight games.
However, their clash with Burnley at Molineux on 26 October is crucial to their survival, as a defeat would see them cut off at the bottom of the table, eight points adrift of safety.
As a result, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Wolves could opt to sack Pereira if they suffer a defeat against Burnley.
Wolves have been keen to stick with the current boss after their show of confidence by handing him a new contract, but are now demanding a turnaround in their form.

Vitor Pereira given four games to save his job at Wolves
Football Insider revealed on 24 October that Pereira could be sacked if Wolves lose to Burnley given the implications of a defeat for their season overall.
However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, there is a growing likelihood that a decision will be made during the November international break, with four games to play between now and then in a bid to save his job.
Following the Burnley clash, Wolves will face Chelsea at Molineux in the Carabao Cup, Fulham at Craven Cottage in the league, and then Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “There will be a concern for Wolves right now if they don’t improve, they could find themselves cut adrift and when that normally happens you see a potential managerial change happening.
“Obviously they’ve got Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, Fulham then away after the Burnley game is a tricky one, then Chelsea away.
“So there are some difficult looking fixtures after the Burnley game for Wolves and Vitor Pereira.
“And then we’ve got the international break, and that could be the time if things haven’t improved.
“If they haven’t picked up too many points in those next three Premier League games then you can possibly see the pressure really being on Pereira.
“When you get the international break, it gives clubs the opportunity to assess things, and the fears could be there that they could make a change in the hot seat at Molineux.”
Wolves joined an exclusive club after their defeat to Leeds in September, becoming one of just six teams to start the season with five successive defeats.
Wolves make Pereira decision after contract renewal
Despite having recently signed a new deal, Wolves are not concerned about paying Pereira compensation if they decide to pull the trigger, leaving the door open to his dismissal.
Sections of the fanbase have begun to call for the manager’s head, while they are slowly being cut adrift at the bottom of the league table.
Brown told Football Insider in September that Wolves could sack Pereira despite his three-year contract due to a hidden clause which would allow for his early exit.
While the exact terms of his contract remain undisclosed, the act of having signed a new deal does not serve as a guarantee that his job will be safe.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider in October 2024 that then-Rangers boss Philippe Clement had agreed a termination fee as part of his contract, before he was sacked.
