Revealed: How much compensation Chelsea could be forced to pay Enzo Maresca
Enzo Maresca has managed his final game in charge of Chelsea after leaving Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have won just one of their past seven Premier League games, with Maresca’s relationship souring with the club’s hierarchy in recent weeks.
Maresca publicly criticised Chelsea’s board last month after claiming he didn’t feel supported, leading to questions around his future at Stamford Bridge.
It has now been confirmed the Italian boss has left Chelsea after his position was deemed untenable.
How much compensation did Chelsea pay previous managers?
Maresca joined Chelsea from Leicester City in June 2024 after leading the Foxes to promotion back to the Premier League.
The London giants paid Leicester around £10million in compensation for his services.
While it has been reported the 45-year-old has left Chelsea by mutual consent, he is still likely to receive a significant compensation package.
Fabrizio Romano reported at the time of Maresca’s appointment he would be earning €5m (£4.4m) at Stamford Bridge, with his contract running until June 2029.

Given the Italian still had three-and-a-half years left to run on his Chelsea deal, it means he could be entitled to just over £15m in compensation.
However, there may have been a break clause in the agreement or a fixed fee already penciled into his deal.
Chelsea paid £13m to sack Graham Potter in April 2023, while Mauricio Pochettino received around £10m following his exit in May 2024.
Who could replace Enzo Maresca at Chelsea?
Maresca achieved reasonable success during his 18 months in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea won the Conference League last season, marking the first trophy of the BlueCo era.
That was followed up just weeks later with their success at the Club World Cup after beating PSG in the final.

However, the Blues appear to have taken a step backwards this season following a string of poor results.
Chelsea sit fifth in the Premier League table and are 15 points behind leaders Arsenal at the midway point of the campaign.
Xavi has emerged as an early favourite for the Chelsea job, but it remains to be seen what approach the club’s board will decide to take.
The Blues’ next fixture sees them take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday (4 January).
