Revealed: Igor Thiago’s updated stance on Brentford transfer after ‘private agreement’
Igor Thiago is happy at Brentford after putting pen to paper on a new contract and remains focused on helping them achieve their lofty goals.
The Bees have risen to seventh in the Premier League table, a position which would see them qualify for the Conference League, largely thanks to the 24-year-old’s goals.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Thiago is happy at Brentford and not considering leaving despite it not being ruled out.
His new contract is set to run until 2031, while Brentford also have the option for an extra year, meaning any deal would have to involve a significant fee.
However, Brown told Football Insider on 16 February that Brentford could sell Thiago regardless of his new contract if the right offer arrives in the summer.

Igor Thiago plans to stay at Brentford
Thiago has scored 17 goals in 26 Premier League games so far this season, placing him on the radar of top clubs including Newcastle and Tottenham.
However, while Brentford are not ruling out his potential departure, the striker is happy in West London and not currently considering his future.
“If somebody comes in for him and is prepared to pay the right fee, Brentford could be prepared to let him go,” Brown told Football Insider.
“That’s the type of club Brentford are, they’re not shy to move their best players on if the right offer comes in and then they go an replace them.
“Their record tells you they’ve been very successful in doing that.
“I’m sure he will accept that, knowing that any interested club will have to come up with a big fee for him, because he’s happy at Brentford if they don’t.

“He’s scoring goals and helping them move up the table, he’s now increased his wages, what’s not to love about that situation for him?
“So like I say, he’s happy at Brentford and they’re happy with him. He could still leave for the right price, but there’s no pressure on them for that to happen.”
Tottenham miss out on another striker after Thiago snub
Thiago is not the only striker who had been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent months as they aim to improve their attacking options in North London.
A number of high-profile forwards have been linked with a move to Spurs, including the likes of Jean-Philippe Mateta and ex-Aston Villa star Jhon Duran.
However, Football Insider exclusively revealed on 13 February that Tottenham opted against signing Duran when offered the opportunity in January.

The 22-year-old made the move to Al Nassr last January, but has since spent six months at Fenerbahce, and completed a loan move to Zenit earlier this month.
Villa let Duran leave last year due to concerns about his attitude, despite his clear talent and impressive on-pitch performances, and others are believed to share their doubts.
