Leeds United starlet Niall Huggins has agreed the terms of a new contract with the club, Football Insider understands.
The highly rated forward, 18, is being handed his first professional deal to replace his scholarship terms, which expire at the end of the season.
A Leeds source has told Football Insider that Elland Road academy product Huggins will follow fellow 18-year-old attacker Jack Clarke in penning a senior agreement.
Clarke signed his contract on his 17th birthday in November of 2017 before establishing himself in the senior side this season with a series of dazzling performances.
Like fellow home-grown star Clarke, York-born Huggins will hope to develop his career at his boyhood club.
Both youngsters are represented by former Leeds left-back Ian Harte, who is now a football agent and looks after a number of rising stars at the club where he made his name.
In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED that club chiefs are fuming behind the scenes after being trumped to “unbelievable” signing.
