Revealed: Leicester City to reject £50m double bid from Tottenham
Leicester City are set to reject a double bid from Tottenham for Harvey Barnes and James Maddison, sources have told Football Insider.
Spurs have a strong interest in both players and were hopeful that they could sign the Foxes duo in a double swoop.
It is understood that the London club have submitted a £50million combined bid for both players, but that figure is significantly lower than Leicester’s valuation and will be rejected.
Leicester were relegated to the Championship in 2022/23 and look set to lose both Barnes and Maddison, but the Midlands club are holding out for a higher fee to let them leave the King Power Stadium this summer.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month (1 June) that Maddison, 26, is “almost certain” to leave the King Power Stadium following the Foxes’ relegation.
Barnes is also attracting interest from West Ham and Aston Villa this summer, but it will not be a straightforward race for either club.
Both Barnes and Maddison were standout players for Leicester in what was a disappointing 2022/23 season for the club.
Barnes topped the Leicester scoring charts last season with 13 goals in 40 games, while Maddison placed second with 10 goals in 32 appearances while also recording nine assists.

Maddison has been with the Foxes since 2018 after making a £20million move to the club from Norwich City. He has gone on to make 203 appearances for the club, scoring 55 goals and making 41 assists.
Barnes has spent the entirety of his senior career with Leicester after graduating from their youth academy in 2016. The 25-year-old has scored 45 goals and registered 32 assists in 187 appearances.
