Rangers are closing in on four new deals as Michael Beale continues what is a massive summer rebuild, sources have told Football Insider.
The Gers have opened contract talks with first choice left-back Borna Barisic over an extension as he enters the final year of his current contract.
Light Blues chiefs have been in discussions with the 30-year-old’s representatives and negotiations are ongoing over the length of deal to be offered to the Croatia international.
Beale his keen to keep hold of the defender in order to avoid having to replace him this summer or let him run down his contract as seen with his departing teammates including Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.
The Ibrox club are also closing in on three new arrivals at the club.
The Gers are looking to strengthen their central defensive options and Football Insider has learned that they are in talks with Nottingham Forest centre-back Jonathan Panzo.
The 22-year-old’s contract at Forest runs until 2025 and has been wanted by Rangers for a long time.
The Glasgow giants have previously held talks with the defender but they have picked up in recent weeks and are ongoing for a deal of around £2million.
The club are also closing in on a deal for midfielder Jose Cifuentes and his arrival is expected to be announced soon, as revealed by Football Insider yesterday (12 June).
Leeds United and Brighton were also interested in Cifuentes but Rangers are set to win the race for his signature.
On Monday (12 June), Football Insider revealed that the club are pursuing a deal to sign Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers.

With his contract running until 2027 the Italian side are in a strong position to hold out for a price they want.
But talks are believed to be underway between Rangers and Dessers and a £5m deal could be struck to bring him to Scotland.
