Lionel Messi cited as Tottenham player transfer on the cards
Richarlison has been linked with a move away from Tottenham for various transfer windows but January may be the right time for both parties to go there separate ways.
During the summer, it looked unlikely that Richarlison would stay at Tottenham after persistent interest from Saudi Arabia, sources told Football Insider.
Now, former Spurs and Man United senior scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider on 13 October that Richarlison is interested in a move to the MLS in January.
A potential persuading factor could be the chance for Richarlison to reunite with ex-Tottenham teammate Son Heung-min at LAFC.
MLS tempting Richarlison as Tottenham keen to hold on to him
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the American top-flight is an enticing proposition for the Brazilian, but one that won’t be explored just yet.
Crucially, Richarlison is the only striker at Tottenham in Dominic Solanke’s injured absence, highlighting Thomas Frank‘s shortage of forward options.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “[The] MLS could be attractive to Richarlison.
“It’s an up-and-coming league. We’ve got the likes of Messi and everything over there has definitely raised the profile of the MLS.

“But, I don’t think Richarlison at this stage of his career probably is thinking of making that move to the MLS just yet.
“You probably still feel he’s got a lot to offer to European football. Richarlison is totally focused on Tottenham and maintaining his form for them right now.
“And he’ll be hoping to have a successful season with Tottenham, which would set him nicely up for the World Cup with Brazil in the summer as well.
“I think any move to the MLS would be put on the back-burner for the considerable future.”
Tottenham turn to Dusan Vlahovic to bolster attacking options
Given the shortage of frontmen for Frank, a January attacking addition would certainly be welcomed.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider on 18 October that Tottenham are leading the race to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus.
The Serbian is out of contract at the end of the season with the Italian giants unable to get him to agree to a new deal.
Hell-bent on leaving as a free agent at the end of the season, Juventus will be likely willing to part with the number nine in January, presenting a lucrative prospect for the Lilywhites.
