Revealed: The £36m Man United star who could make surprise exit in January, Premier League side interested
Johsua Zirkzee could be set to leave Manchester United in the January transfer window, with a number of clubs interested in the forward, sources have told Football Insider.
Zirkzee completed a move to Man United in the summer of 2024, for a fee of just over £36million, but has failed to nail down a place in the side.
He is now well down the pecking order under Ruben Amorim, following the summer signings of Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
The 24-year-old has played less than 90 minutes of Premier League football in total so far this season, and is yet to start a competitive game for the Red Devils.
Premier League side join race for Joshua Zirkzee
It is well known that Zirkzee has admirers back in Italy, with the likes of Inter Milan linked with the former Bologna man over the summer.
Juventus and Como are also looking at the Dutchman, who is increasingly likely to move away in January.
Premier League side West Ham United have now also joined the race for Zirkzee, as they look to bolster their attack.
New West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo is yet to give Callum Wilson a single minute, and with Niclas Fullkrug misfiring, the East London outfit are in desperate need of reinforcements up front.
Zirkzee needs game time to thrive
In his first campaign at Man United, Zirkzee started just 14 Premier League games, featuring for a total of 1394 minutes.
Compare that to his final season at Bologna, where he had almost double the game time in the league, and it becomes clear why the attacker has failed to settle in England.

Zirkzee picked up 16 goal contributions in the Serie A during the 2023-24 campaign, but could only muster up five last term with the Red Devils.
In order for the striker to shine and realise his undoubted potential, he must be getting the necessary gametime, and at this stage it looks like he will only find that away from Man United.
