Revealed: The ex-manager West Ham would ‘give anything’ to have back, new ‘crisis’ emerges
West Ham United are in an awful situation currently and they would love to have one of their former managers back in charge.
The Hammers sit 19th in the Premier League table after Friday night’s defeat to Leeds United and have picked up just four points from their opening nine games.
Nuno Espirito Santo took over from Graham Potter at the end of last month, but has failed to get the East London side firing during his four matches in charge.
After picking up one point from games against Everton and Arsenal, West Ham were beaten 1-0 by Brentford at the London Stadium and followed that with the 2-1 defeat at Leeds, their seventh loss in nine league games this term.

West Ham would give anything to have David Moyes back
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that West Ham would love to have former manager David Moyes back in charge.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that the Hammers have made some big mistakes over the past few years, including the dismissal of the Scot.
Moyes was sacked by West Ham in the summer of 2024 and is now enjoying a successful spell in charge of Everton.
Wyness added that Espirito Santo has a big job on his hands at the London Stadium, and they are already lurching towards another crisis.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Nuno tried to say some calming words after the Brentford game, but it’s going to take all of his skills to get that squad performing.
“I think West Ham have got a real battle on their hands and I think they are in trouble. I don’t see January being a way to get them going.
“Look, they’ve made some big mistakes in terms of managers over the last few seasons. I mean, what they would give for Moyes back there right now.

“It’s a problem for West Ham, it’s a big issue. It’s going to take a little run from Nuno to get things stabilised, and I don’t really see that happening right now. I think by Christmas we’re going to be looking at them being the club in crisis.”
West Ham’s three-man January signing plan
Meanwhile, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that West Ham have a three-man signing plan for the January transfer window.
It is evident that the East London side need reinforcements in January, and the club will be looking to address three positions in particular.
Sources say that West Ham’s primary target in the transfer window will be a centre-forward.
They would also like to strengthen in central midfield and central defence if finances allow.
