Revealed: The number of games Vitor Pereira is from Wolves sack

Vitor Pereira will be given until the international break to save his job at Wolves, sources have told Football Insider.

The Old Gold were beaten 3-2 by relegation rivals Burnley on Sunday (26 October), leaving them six points from safety.

Pereira clashed with Wolves fans after the full-time whistle as tensions grow at the club, with their Premier League status already looking fragile.

However, sources say that the Portuguese manager will be given at least the next three games to turn things around before the international break.

Wolves have crucial matches to come

Wolves face Chelsea in the EFL Cup on Wednesday (29 October), before a huge game against Fulham in the Premier League at the weekend.

The Midlands club then take on Enzo Maresca’s side again, this time in the league, in their last match before the international break.

If they fail to win any of those three games, then a change of manager could be in the offing at Molineux.

As it stands, Pereira’s job at Wolves is not in immediate danger, with Jeff Shi and the rest of the board willing to give him a chance.

However, results dictate, and a failure to address their current poor form would see the 57-year-old dismissed.

Wolves have way out after Pereira contract

Pereira signed a new deal at Molinuex last month, which seemed to be a vote of confidence from the board, despite the club’s disastrous form.

However, Wolves may have included a hidden clause in Pereira’s new contract which would enable them to sack him if needed.

That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who believes there could be a clause in the new deal that reduces Pereira’s pay-off if Wolves decide to part ways with the Portuguese boss.
