Revealed: The Wolves tipping point for Vitor Pereira sacking

Wolves will sack manager Vitor Pereira if their gap to Premier League survival grows any bigger, sources have told Football Insider.

The Old Gold currently sit bottom of the division, with just two points from their opening nine games of the season.

Wolves’ 3-2 defeat to Burnley on Sunday (26 October) means they are now six points adrift of Fulham in 17th.

Sources say that if the Midlands side drop any further away from safety, then the hierarchy will be forced to make a decision on Pereira’s future.

Vitor Pereira has three games to save his Wolves job

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Pereira is likely to be given until the international break to save his job.

Wolves face Chelsea in the EFL Cup on Wednesday (29 October), before a huge game against Fulham in the Premier League at the weekend.

The Midlands club then take on Enzo Maresca’s side again, this time in the league, in their last match before the international break.

If they drop any further away from Premier League safety before the two-week hiatus in the middle of November, then Pereira will likely be dismissed.

Wolves have way out after Pereira contract

Pereira signed a new deal at Molinuex last month, which seemed to be a vote of confidence from the board, despite the club’s disastrous form.

However, Wolves may have included a hidden clause in Pereira’s new contract which would enable them to sack him if needed.

That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who believes there could be a clause in the new deal that reduces Pereira’s pay-off if Wolves decide to part ways with the Portuguese boss.
