Revealed: Tottenham hit by ‘huge’ new Harry Kane blow
Harry Kane has told Tottenham he will not sign a new contract until a manager is appointed, sources have told Football Insider.
Spurs have been keen to secure their 29-year-old talisman to a new deal as the summer window approaches.
The in-demand England captain will have 12 months left on his contract next month – and his Tottenham future is once again up in the air.
Tottenham want to build their team around Kane after installing their next permanent manager.
It is believed the striker will be consulted during the interview process.
Football Insider revealed last week (2 May) that the club are talking to options including former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann and Feyenoord manager Arne Slot.
However, Spurs’ all-time record scorer has no intention of putting pen to paper while there are so many issues to be dealt with.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Kane’s stance represents a “huge” problem for the Lilywhites – with the forward considered irreplaceable by the club.
Sources told this site last month (26 April) that Man United are hopeful they can sign Kane for £85million plus add-ons this summer.
However, Tottenham’s valuation of their star man is believed to be £100million – despite his advancing years and dwindling contract.
Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the talisman, with ex-Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino reportedly eyeing a reunion with Kane.
The red-hot forward has scored 28 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions this season.

His Premier League total of 26 for the 2022-23 campaign is just four strikes away from his best-ever tally of 30.
The striker, who turns 30 in July, has moved clear of Wayne Rooney to become the top-flight’s second-top scorer of all time with 209 goals.
In other news, Tottenham could block West Ham bid for England international.
