Revealed: Tottenham ready new Gallagher move after deadline-day deal blocked
Tottenham are considering a return for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Spurs, who are long-term admirers of the midfielder, saw interest in the 23-year-old blocked on transfer deadline day (1 September).
But Chelsea are well-stocked in midfield following another summer transfer splurge.

The Blues added Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad during the window.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that a potential exit for Gallagher could be dictated by the financial situation at Stamford Bridge.
It is believed that Chelsea would consider parting with the England international if the right offer arrives.
Any sale of Gallagher would be recorded as pure profit for Financial Fair Play reasons as the player is a product of the club’s academy.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi were sold under similar circumstances in the summer window.
Gallagher has started in each of Chelsea’s five fixtures in the 2023-24 campaign – and even captained the Blues against Wimbledon in the League Cup.
The nine-cap star is also now a regular in Gareth Southgate’s England squad ahead of next year’s European Championships in Germany.
He has made 50 appearances for Chelsea and is not out of contract until June 2025.

Tottenham are light in midfield with star man Rodrigo Bentancur still on the treatment table with a serious knee injury.
Spurs have picked up 10 points from a possible 12 this season, while Chelsea have managed just four points from four games.
