Tottenham striker Shayon Harrison has agreed a deal to join Southend United on loan for the rest of the season, Football Insider sources understand.
Tottenham are happy to loan out Harrison so that he can regular first-team under his belt and a number of Football League clubs have expressed an interest in the player.
However, a well placed source has told Football Insider that new Southend boss Chris Powell has moved quickly to agree a deal with Spurs to take Harrison to Roots Hall for the remainder of the season.
The move is set to be announced ahead of the transfer window cut-off on Wednesday night.
Harrison has come through the ranks at Tottenham and he is highly-regarded within the corridors of power at Spurs.
The powerful forward made his first-team debut in a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in the EFL Cup in October 2016 and that is his only first-team appearance to date.
Harrison spent the second half of last season out on loan at Yeovil Town and he scored one goal in 15 appearances for the League Two club.
