Revealed: West Ham make move to sign Habib Diallo after bid submitted

West Ham have registered their interest in a deal for Habib Diallo, sources have told Football Insider.

Diallo is a firm target for the Irons this summer and the London club will sign a striker if David Moyes gets his wish this summer.

Brentford are pushing hard for a deal and there is strong interest from Crystal Palace in the 27-year-old.

The Bees are searching for a replacement for striker Ivan Toney who will miss the start of next season as he continues to serve his eight-month ban until January 2024.

Palace have been keeping tabs on the goalscorer as they plot to sign a centre-forward in the summer window.

On 30 May, Football Insider revealed that an unnamed Premier League club submitted an offer to Strasbourg for the striker.

The 28-year-old’s contract at the Ligue 1 clubs runs until 2025 after joining from fellow French side Metz in 2020.

Diallo netted 20 goals across 38 appearances for Strasbourg in a campaign that saw them finish 15th in the French top flight and 14 points clear of the relegation zone.

The Hammers are preparing to receive a British record £105million windfall from the sale of Declan Rice this summer.

On 1 July, Football Insider revealed that the Irons are ready to invest most of the money received from the sale of their star midfielder back into the squad.

Moyes’ side are eyeing up four signings in the first wave of their summer business and are keen to add two midfielders, a winger and a left-back, as revealed by Football Insider last week (2 July).
