Revealed: West Ham three-man signing plan – sources

West Ham are in the market for a prolific striker this summer as they prepare to allow Michail Antonio to leave the club, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Friday (21 July) that Antonio, 33, is the subject of interest from Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ettifaq.

It is believed long-term targets Armando Broja and Youssef En-Nesyri are on the shortlist at the London Stadium as they search for striking reinforcements.

However, while a forward signing is a priority, it is believed West Ham are keen to wrap up signings in central midfield and at centre-back first.

Football Insider revealed on Friday (21 July) that David Moyes’ side are expected to formalise their interest in Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse after seeing a verbal bid rejected earlier in the window.

Sources have also told Football Insider (21 July) that West Ham and Wolves are among a number of English clubs plotting moves for Uruguay and FC Midtjylland midfielder Emiliano Martínez.

The willingness to add midfield signings comes after the British-record sale of captain Declan Rice, which was finalised last week.

West Ham are ready to add a new centre-back after struggling with injuries and the departure of Craig Dawson in the 2022-23 campaign.
