Revealed: What Chelsea dressing room really thinks of Pochettino appointment
The Chelsea dressing room sees Mauricio Pochettino as an exciting appointment at Stamford Bridge, sources have told Football Insider.
The Blues are in advanced talks with the former Spurs manager over the vacant managerial job with an agreement close to being finalised, Football Insider sources understand.
An appointment could be announced in the coming days.
Pochettino has leapfrogged the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique in the running for the job in the last week.
Football Insider revealed last Sunday (23 April) that Chelsea decided not to appoint Nagelsmann due to fears over his ability to handle big players.
Pochettino is regarded by the big-name stars he is all set to manage at Stamford Bridge as a top-class operator with the credentials to transform a team that has had a dreadful campaign.
Pochettino has been out of a job since being sacked by Paris Saint-Germain in July 2022, but a return to the Premier League is looking increasingly likely for the Argentine coach.
The London club currently sit 11th in the Premier League and look likely to miss out on European qualification entirely this season.
But Chelsea still remain an attractive proposition for top-class coaches, with Todd Boehly eager to continue investing in the club after spending £600million in the last two transfer windows.

Pochettino previously spent five years in charge of Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham, and he led the side to a Champions League final in 2019.
He was sacked by the North London club just five months after losing the Champions League final, but departed Spurs with a win rate of 54.27 per cent after taking charge of 293 games.
