Revealed: Who are the favourites to sign Raheem Sterling after Chelsea departure
Chelsea announced the departure of Raheem Sterling on Wednesday, ending his torrid time at Stamford Bridge.
The former Man City winger joined the London club in 2022, in a deal that was seen as a real coup at the time.
However, after being a key part of the first team in his first two campaigns, he was quickly frozen out of the side.
This season, Sterling did not make a single appearance for Chelsea, with Enzo Maresca refusing to play the 31-year-old.
Now, Sterling has officially departed Stamford Bridge, leaving via mutual consent after reaching an agreement to end his contract.

Fulham favourites to land Raheem Sterling
Now that Sterling in a free agent, he will not be short on potential offers.
Despite his lack of game time at Chelsea, he is still only 31 years old, and played a part in Arsenal’s first-team last season whilst on loan.
As it stands, one bookmaker has Fulham as the favourites at 2/1.
However, it remains to be seen if the Cottagers will make an offer as Fulham close in on Oscar Bobb.
The next two favourites are also Premier League clubs based in London, in West Ham and Crystal Palace.

These are placed at 4/1 and 5/1 to land Sterling’s signature as they look to turn their campaigns around.
Following this is a potential eye-catching move to Man United at 12/1, while Leeds United are also priced at the same odds.
Can Sterling still be a success in the Premier League?
Based on his stats from the 2024-25 campaign, there is every chance that Sterling can be a huge success in the Premier League this season.
According to Fotmob on 28 January, he was producing a 0.26 xG, 0.36 assists, 1.81 successful dribbles and 8.53 touches in the opposition box.
| Raheem Sterling’s Premier League stats last season | Per 90 minutes |
| xG | 0.26 |
| Assists | 0.36 |
| Successful dribbles | 1.81 |
| Touches in opposition box | 8.53 |
| Fouls won | 1.45 |
| Chances created | 1.45 |
While it may take him some time to get match-sharp, there is no reason why he can’t have an impact at a Premier League side if he makes a move.
It would arguably be a gamble, especially considering his potentially high wage demands. However, if it comes off, it could help propel one of these mid-table sides in European qualification by the campaign’s end.
