Hull City are plotting a contract offer for Leeds United defender Lucas Odunston as they close in on a pre-summer deal, Football Insider understands.
The 18-year-old, who is predominantly a right-back, has been told he has no future at Elland Road and he will be not be offered an extension to his scholarship contract which expires at the end of the season.
A club source has told Football Insider that Hull are interested in signing Odunston and he has made the short journey across Yorkshire to undergo a trial ahead of a possible transfer.
There is also interest in the teenager from other Football League clubs, including several in the Championship.
Odunston joined the Leeds scholarship ranks in May 2017 among an intake of eight youngsters that included home-grown star Jack Clarke.
The defender has suffered from injury during his time at Thorp Arch and been mainly restricted to the club’s Under-18s set-up, while Clarke has dazzled for the senior side.
