Richarlison’s Tottenham exit to Palmeiras ‘suddenly’ realistic – Brazil expert
Richarlison potential return to his native country to join Palmeiras has been earmarked as a genuine possibility during this transfer window.
Richarlison has struggled to ever make a real impact at Spurs since his move to North London from Everton for an initial £50million [The Guardian] back in 2022.
Football finance expert Stefan Borson revealed to Football Insider in May that Richarlison is facing an uncertain future at Spurs this summer as the club look to sell players to raise funds for unpaid debts.
Everton are not set to pursue a deal for Richarlison after Football Insider had revealed that David Moyes was set to hold internal talks over a potential move for the Tottenham forward, and an overseas move instead looks likely for him in the coming months.
Football Insider revealed on Monday, 7 July, that Richarlison is ready to leave Spurs soon, with sources close to the club saying that he is likely to be the one sacrificed to make room in the squad after Mohammed Kudus’ move to the Lilywhites.

Palmeiras to use Club World Cup budget to land Richarlison
The Brazil international netted just five goals last season amid numerous injury issues, and could be set to depart Spurs this summer with Palmeiras now believed to be interested.
Brazilian outlet Terra (15 July) have claimed that Palmeiras’ club president Leila Pereira has been in direct talks with Richarlison for about two weeks, trying to convince him to return to Brazilian football.
They also claim that the Brazilian side are not intimidated by Spurs’ apparent £55m valuation of their striker, saying that they are considering using part of their reported £29.1m [BBC] prize money from the CWC to land him this summer.
Speaking live on talkSPORT on 16 July, South American football expert Tim Vickery admitted that Palmeiras can afford such a move and it is now a genuinely realistic that Richarlison returns to Brazilian football, saying: “The teams that have come back from the Club World Cup…they’ve got a lot of money, and so suddenly a move like this is a possibility. They’ve got all this money, but who can they persuade to come back?
“It’s very unlikely that they can do that with someone in their prime doing well in Europe, but that’s not really the case with Richarlison, is it? He might be up for it, so that’s a possibility…maybe they have just got a shot.”
Richarlison should jump at Brazil return with Palmeiras
Football Insider verdict
Even though a move back to Brazil represents a step down in quality from that of the Premier League, Richarlison would surely benefit from the added confidence and belief that Palmeiras’ fanbase would instantly give him if he moved to the club this summer.
Spurs will certainly be willing to sanction the 28-year-old’s permanent exit ahead of the new season after a campaign in which he scored just five times in 24 appearances, so sorting a move should not be an issue if he is happy to return to his native country.

He also has two years left on his Tottenham deal and his stock is probably as low as it has ever been right now, so Palmeiras may well be the interested team that appeals the most to Richarlison, considering Everton have already turned down the chance to re-sign him.
Palmeiras are also giants of Brazilian football and one of the biggest teams in South America, as well as a decent side as shown by their impressive CWC campaign, so joining them should not be looked down upon and Richarlison should make the move there soon.
