Jamie Carragher’s comments appear to be coming back to bite after Mohamed Salah starred in Liverpool’s win over Brighton.
Everything in the lead-up to the clash at Anfield on Saturday, 13 December, has been focused on Arne Slot and Salah’s falling out following the winger’s explosive interview with the media.
The Egyptian star clearly had had enough after being left on the bench for three successive games, but after grabbing an assist against the Seagulls, it all seems repaired on Merseyside.
Carragher has been extremely vocal over Salah’s situation, calling the winger out publicly, which has seen some of the Anfield faithful turn on him. It’s all been very toxic.
Rio Ferdinand clearly couldn’t help but make a comment, with the Man United legend now awaiting a response from Carragher.

Aiming a cheeky dig at Carragher, Ferdinand took to X (13 December), writing: “Thoughts, @Carra23? ‘Mo Salah’ is being sung by the Kop,” alongside a video of the Reds’ post-match celebrations.
Liverpool fans had already made their feelings clear over Salah, cheering as the stadium announcer called his name before kick-off, before coming on to cause havoc against the Seagulls.
After full-time, Salah was then spotted waving to the Kop, with some suggesting that he was bidding farewell, given that he is about to jet out to AFCON, possibly until January.
The 33-year-old continues to be linked with a move away, especially with multiple Saudi Pro League clubs after his signature, and rumours are growing stronger ahead of the January transfer window.

It was nearly a masterclass from Liverpool’s No.11, but not quite, as the winger missed multiple opportunities to give his side breathing space from the Seagulls.
Despite failing to score from three shots, he did bag an assist, create the most chances of any player on the pitch (five), attempted three dribbles, entered into six duels, and made five recoveries [FotMob].
Even Salah will admit that the 2025-26 campaign has been one of the worst during his time at Anfield, but even so, he has notched five goals and four assists.
Only Hugo Ekitike has recorded more goal contributions than the Egyptian, but because of his lack of energy without possession, it was a sensible move from the manager to try something different.
The Reds will now have to deal without him up front, but fans will be hoping he returns from AFCON next month to see out the rest of his contract.
