Rangers fans on social media were outraged by the refereeing decisions made during their 2-1 defeat to Celtic on Saturday afternoon.
Celtic came out on top in Saturday’s Old Firm derby clash after goals from Paulo Bernardo and Kyogo Furuhashi either side of half time.
Gers captain James Tavernier scored a late consolation goal for the visitors, but Rangers were unable to rescue a point in the final minutes.
Celtic are now eight points clear of their Glaswegian rivals in the Scottish Premiership table, although Rangers have two games in hand.
There were a number of controversial moments in the match, including Rangers being denied a penalty after VAR checked for a handball against Alistair Johnston.
The Celtic defender was pictured hitting the ball out of play with his hand but after a swift VAR check Rangers’ claims were rejected.
It was later revealed that there was an offside in the build-up to the decision.
Referee Nick Walsh was again involved in a key decision in the second half when he sent off Leon Balogun for a challenge on Daizen Maeda.
Gers fans took to social media on Saturday afternoon to vent their frustration at the refereeing display, with many supporters claiming there is a ‘conspiracy’ against their side.
Rangers are back in action on Tuesday (2 January) when they host Kilmarnock at Ibrox, while Celtic return on Tuesday with a trip to St Mirren.
