Robbie Keane installed as sudden favourite for Premier League manager job
Robbie Keane has emerged as a major favourite to take over at Crystal Palace with Oliver Glasner’s future in doubt.
The Eagles are reportedly paying serious attention to the possibility of sacking the Austrian in the coming hours, after Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Zrinjski Mostar.
Glasner‘s team were ultimately lucky not to lose the first leg of the Conference League play-offs, and will have to beat the Bosnian outfit at Selhurst Park next week.
The 51-year-old was already due to be leaving Palace at the end of the season, but has failed to get his side out of a serious ditch.
The Eagles have won just one game from their last 15 across all competitions, and are only eight points from the relegation zone.

Bookies significantly cut Robbie Keane odds
Thomas Frank was sacked by Tottenham last week and looked to have emerged as the favourite for the Palace job.
The Dane’s time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was disastrous, but he retains his reputation for the job he did with Brentford.
The immediacy of the situation developing at Selhurst Park appears to have thrust Keane towards the top of the list, however.

The former Ireland international is in charge of Hungarian side Ferencvaros, who he hopes to lead to a second consecutive title in the NB1.
The 45-year-old is yet to show a willingness to put an end to his time in Hungary, but an offer from a Premier League club would be difficult to turn down.
It is unclear whether that offer would come in the form of a permanent contract, or an interim role until the summer, however.

Nonetheless, one major bookmaker has extraordinarily slashed Keane’s odds of taking over to 2/7 in recent hours, with Frank (7/1) and Roger Schmidt (11/1) trailing behind.
Keane tight-lipped on Premier League links
Considering Keane’s many years in the Premier League as a player, it is no surprise to see him linked with a return.
It almost feels inevitable that the striker will be back eventually, especially considering the superb job he has done elsewhere.
Asked about links to the Tottenham job last week, Keane briefly replied: “I can’t help speculation”.
But with Igor Tudor now in place, it appears that the links to the likes of Crystal Palace will be more intense.
