Robbie Savage has already given his answer to Championship club after source’s reveal
Robbie Savage has already admitted that he does not believe that he is ready to take a job in the Championship.
Football Insider revealed on Wednesday that Savage is a leading contender for the Blackburn Rovers job, after Valerien Ismael was sacked.
The Forest Green Rovers manager played for the Blue and Whites between 2005 and 2008, making 100 appearances in that time.
Blackburn sacked Ismael on Monday, after a ninth consecutive game across all competitions without victory.
Damien Duff was the leading candidate to take over at Blackburn, but there are several key contenders expected to be in the frame.

Robbie Savage gives verdict on Championship move
Savage was hired by Forest Green in the summer, and his team are going well in the National League.
The Green are fourth, and well on course to enter the play-offs for a chance of making it back to League Two.
The 51-year-old started out at Macclesfield FC, where he led the club to the North Premier League Premier Division title, before leaving in 2025 to join Forest Green.

Savage has previously spoken about his desire to one day manage the Wales national team, but he has admitted that such a dream is some way off, yet.
The former midfielder has also spoken about links to clubs in the EFL, and, in September, he gave his early verdict on a move to the Championship.
“I’m a million miles away from being a league [EFL] manager, a Championship manager, Premier League manager, Wales manager,” he told the Feast of Football podcast.
“I know that. I’ve been linked with the EFL jobs recently, you know the first I heard of it was when it was online. But I know where I am right now and if somebody said to me now, right, go and manage a team in the Championship in front of 25,000 fans, I’m not ready.
“I would turn them down because I’m not ready. I need to do well for Forest Green and show the faith they’ve shown in me and I’m going to make loads of mistakes.”
Blackburn Rovers would be taking huge risk
Blackburn appear to be entering a dogfight with West Brom for safety in the Championship, with Tuesday’s win over Sheffield Wednesday actually lifting them out of the drop zone.
But a decision in the dugout looms over Ewood Park, with the ramifications of making the right choice potentially adding up to millions of pounds either way.
With that in mind, the appointment of Savage may seem a very risky choice for some decision-makers at Blackburn.
The 51-year-old’s managerial career is still very much in its infancy, and such a big move so early could prove disastrous.
