Robbie Savage has laughed at the suggestion that Tottenham ace Toby Alderweireld is better than Chelsea’s David Luiz.
Former Premier League midfielder Savage named the players who were in his team of the season with Luiz getting the nod over Alderweireld and his fellow defensive counterparts.
Savage picked a central defensive partnership consisting of Burnley’s Michael Keane and Chelsea’s senior player Luiz.
Furthermore, he also backed defensive midfielder N’Golo Kante to be named Player of the Year, with Dele Alli picking up Young Player of the Year prize.
When a Spurs supporter on Twitter suggested that Luiz “couldn’t lace the boots” of Alderweireld, Savage issued this response on his personal account.

Luiz is on course to help Chelsea lift the Premier League title as they are currently ten points ahead of second-placed Spurs in the table.
Blues manager Antonio Conte has used the Brazillian international in a defensive backline consisting of three players when they are attacking and five when they are defending.
By contrast, Alderweireld has also been used in a similar system by his manager Mauricio Pochettino throughout the campaign.
Over the course of the season, Chelsea have conceded 21 goals from their 38 matches, with their London rivals shipping the same amount of goals.
Both Luiz and Alderweireld have been key players behind their side’s strong defensive unit, with fifth-placed Manchester United (23) holding the next best defensive record.
