Roberto Firmino tipped to quit Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp decision last week – pundit
Kevin Campbell fears the end is nigh for Roberto Firmino at Liverpool.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker suggested the 30-year-old’s contract situation and lack of game time will lead to his departure from Anfield.
Firmino starred for the Reds in a 3-3 draw with Benfica on Wednesday night.
The Brazil international scored twice as Liverpool set up a semi-final against Unai Emery’s Villarreal.
However, Jurgen Klopp overlooked Firmino for decisive games away at Benfica and Man City last week.
The forward’s contract expires in the summer of 2023, along with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Firmino’s future, Campbell said:
“I’ll be honest, I think Firmino will go even though I would like to see him stay. He is good enough to be a starter at another big club though.
“Liverpool will shuffle their pack this summer. I really think they will. Mane and Salah also need new contracts. It is very difficult to sign them all on the kind of wages they will want.
“It will be very interesting to see who signs and who doesn’t. I don’t think Firmino is the priority though.”

Firmino appears to be fifth in the forward pecking order at Anfield behind Salah, Mane, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.
He has contributed 11 goals and four assists in 30 games across all competitions in the 2021-22 campaign.
