Roberts replacement: Celtic should sign Norwich attacker after £4m bid reportedly rejected

Brendan Rodgers should finally replace the loss of Patrick Roberts by bringing Norwich attacker Josh Murphy to Glasgow this summer.

Sun correspondent David Coverdale revealed on his personal Twitter account that Garry Monk’s Middlesbrough have had a bid of £4million rejected for the 22-year-old.

This comes after the Canaries sold his brother, Jacob, to Premier League side Newcastle on Wednesday afternoon for a fee of around £12million.

Celtic have made three signings this summer in ex-Aberdeen attacker Jonny Hayes, Oliver Ntcham from Manchester City and Kundai Benyu from Championship side Ipswich Town.

But Rodgers is likely to want to add to that, and Football Insider believes he should improve on Middlesbrough’s offer to bring Murphy to Lennoxtown this summer.
