Paul Robinson has claimed Premier League teams “will be sniffing around” Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England goalkeeper hailed the Colombia international as a “big talent” capable of playing in England’s top flight.
Morelos banged in his 15th goal of the season in Rangers’ 1-1 draw at Heart last weekend and has now netted 63 times in 110 matches for the Scottish giants.
Football Insider revealed that Rangers now value their prize asset in the £20million-plus bracket amid interest from Aston Villa.
Robinson told Football Insider: “I don’t think the Scottish league is too dissimilar from the Premier League, it’s obviously weaker than the Premier League but that kind of player who stands out in the Scottish league, there’s no argument why they wouldn’t fit in the Premier League.
“Yeah, of course Premier League teams will be sniffing around Morelos, you look at the teams he’s playing against week in, week out and that has to be questioned – but you have to score the goals.
“If you’re put in front of goal you’ve still got to score the goals so to score that amount of goals, there is a big talent there and he’s got 15 already this season after 30 last year. He has clear ability.
“No disrespect to Rangers or Celtic, or the Scottish league. but the Premier League is a bigger pull.”
Morelos signed a new contract in March that runs until the summer of 2023 and is one of the best paid players in Scotland.
