Pundit issues 'disgusting' David Moyes verdict after journalist's West Ham update

Paul Robinson has claimed West Ham manager David Moyes “deserves time” to turnaround the club’s fortunes.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said “it is disgusting” to even talk about the possibility of sacking the 59-year-old.

The Hammers have endured a difficult start to the 2022-23 campaign.

The London club are 16th in the Premier League table – just one point above the relegation zone.

According to the Daily Mail‘s Kieran Gill (14 November), Moyes’ position is not in immediate risk at the London Stadium.

It is said that the ex-Everton boss has “plenty of credit in the bank” with the board.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Moyes’ future, Robinson said: “No squad is too good to go down but David Moyes deserves time.

“He has done such a good job there. You do not press the panic button on a manager like David Moyes after such a short space of time.

“Look, they have had a poor start to the season. They are struggling and maybe that is down to the fact they are also juggling the Europa Conference League.

“I like the squad Moyes has amassed though. They have some top players. In all honesty, a great season for West Ham would be survival and a Europa Conference League trophy. I think it is only a matter of time before they get it right.

“It is disgusting to even suggest David Moyes is under serious pressure. He has done so much for that club. Look at Mikel Arteta. You need to give managers time.”
