Robinson issues ‘huge’ Everton dressing room verdict after Frank Lampard transfer hint

Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Everton for their business in the transfer window so far.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one claimed James Tarkowksi and Conor Coady will be “huge” players for the Toffees both on and off the pitch.

Everton have added Tarkowski, Coady, Dwight McNeil, Amadou Onana and Ruben Vinagre to their squad this summer.

Every new signing aside from Vinagre featured at Goodison Park on Saturday as Frank Lampard’s side drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest.

As quoted by the Liverpool Echo (20 August), Lampard hinted at further business prior to the window closing.

Robinson gave an insight on McNeil and Tarkowski both of whom he played with at Burnley.

“Dwight McNeil and James Tarkowski are good signings,” he told Football Insider.

“They are two players I have played with. Thos two know what a relegation fight is like and they know how to keep a team in the Premier League.

“To have a character like Tarkowski in the dressing room is huge. It’s almost as important as having him on the field.

“Conor Coady is also a massive signing for them. He is a leader on and off the field. His performances have got him into the England squad. I think he’ll be a really big signing for them.

“They struggled defensively last season. Tarkowski and Coady will build a great partnership I’m sure.”
