Robinson makes 'huge' Conte claim after £13m Tottenham reveal from Mail

Antonio Conte is “worth every penny” of his £13million-a-year contract at Tottenham, according to Paul Robinson.

The former White Hart Lane number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, backed the 52-year-old to “implement huge change” in north London despite an indifferent first two games.

According to the Daily Mail (November 6th), Spurs have made Conte the third highest paid manager in European football on a £13million-a-year deal.

The Italian manager got off to a winning start on Thursday with a 3-2 win over Vitesse Arnhem in the Europa Conference League.

However, his side struggled against Everton in the Premier League on Sunday and failed to register a shot on target. (OptaJoe)

When asked by Football Insider if the club was right to hand Conte a £13million-a-year contract, Robinson said: “Conte’s worth every penny.

“You cannot see a lot of change so far but he has had no training sessions. There’s been no time for him to implement his ideas. It is too early to judge him.

“You are going to get passion, enthusiasm and commitment. Eventually, he will get the best out of these players.

“I suspect he knows the players but he will not know them well enough to pick his best side. He needs time to assess the squad.

“It will take time because Spurs have been so bad this season. He will implement huge change though.

“Once again they failed to register a shot on target. There is clearly problems and Conte, given time, will rectify them.”

In other news, this may be the real reason Everton feel cheated by officials at Tottenham, and it’s not because of Lloris.
