Robinson shares bold verdict on Tottenham re-signing Bale after two updates from Sky
Tottenham will not re-sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer.
That is the view of former White Hart Lane number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 31-year-old’s future after an indifferent loan spell in north London.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, Bale revealed he knows where he will be playing next season but insisted he will not offer more detail until after the Euros.
Sky Sports later claimed Real Madrid will listen to offers for the Wales international this summer amid their continued interest in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
Bale scored 16 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions for Spurs in the 2020-21 campaign and averaged the most goals per 90 minutes of any player in the Premier League (1.07).(BBC)
Robinson claimed the stats paint a false picture of Bale’s second spell in north London.

“His record is good and his stats are good but they doesn’t tell the whole picture of what’s gone on this season,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“Since Jose has left Bale has become the player we thought he would be. He was not used enough this year and clearly that was because there was a problem between him and Jose. It did not help the situation.
“I still do not think he has done enough to stay at Spurs though. When you look at his loan spell on the whole, it has not been a success.
“You cannot say the money spent was justified given the amount of games he has played. Then you thrown into the mix the comments he made about coming to Spurs to get fit for the Euros.
“I just do not think it went as well as expected. I cannot see him coming back in all honesty.”
