Robinson singles out five Liverpool stars as ‘biggest problem’ identified

Paul Robinson has claimed Liverpool stars Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson are underperforming.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs and England number one said “the biggest problem” for Jurgen Klopp is that his best players are struggling.

The Reds slipped to a 4-1 loss to Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Wednesday night (7 September).

Speaking to BT Sport (7 September), Klopp claimed his team may need to “reinvent” themselves after the defeat.

Klopp confessed he does not know why his side are struggling but vowed to work it out.

When asked by Football Insider if a drop-off in performance from Salah, Van Dijk, Fabinho, Alexander-Arnold and Robertson was to blame, Robinson said: “Yes, and that’s one of the reasons they are struggling.

“It is so easy to jump on the bad and jump on the good though. Look at Man United, when they lost to Brentford it was the world’s end but now people are saying it is the best United team they have seen in a long time.

“There is too many players underperforming at Liverpool. We are used to seeing them play at a certain level.
