Robinson thrilled by ‘brilliant’ Lloris news from Tottenham after Sky update
Paul Robinson is over the moon to hear Tottenham are negotiating a new contract with Hugo Lloris.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said the 34-year-old is “back to his best” in north London after a difficult period before the Euros.
Lloris has just over six months left on his current deal in north London and will be able to speak to foreign clubs regarding a pre-contract agreement from 1 January.

According to Sky Sports (6 December), Spurs are hopeful the France captain will pen a new terms after initial discussions.
Speaking on Lloris earlier this month (4 December), Antonio Conte detailed how he considers the goalkeeper “an important player” for his side.
Robinson compared Lloris’ situation at Spurs to that of David de Gea at Manchester United.
“I don’t see why they club wouldn’t offer him a new deal,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“He is back to his best. The 12-18 months before the Euros there was a question as to whether he should have been playing. His form dipped. He has rediscovered his form though.
“I’d say him and De Gea have had a similar plight. There was question marks over De Gea’s future but he could get a new contract now as well.

“Lloris has been brilliant this season. If you want to replace him you are going to have to pay a lot of money. There is not many goalkeepers of his calibre around.
“If Lloris is still fit and healthy why would you not offer him a new deal? I think they can get two or three years out of him.”
