Rodgers hails 31-year-old Celtic star after victory at Hamilton

Brendan Rodgers has heaped praise on skipper Scott Brown following Celtic’s 3-0 victory against Hamilton on Christmas Eve.
The 31-year-old has been one of the Hoops’ best players this season and Rodgers has voiced his admiration for Brown on a number of occasions since taking over.
Rodgers recently urged his players to look up to Wimbledon and Olympic tennis champion Andy Murray for inspiration and claimed Brown is another example of someone who is an “elite sportsperson”.
The Celtic boss also claimed Brown is “devoted” and after a nine-month transformation, the Scotland international has shown everyone what he can do.
“I can look here at Scott Brown. He’s devoted and getting the rewards,” said Rodgers, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“He’s what an elite sportsperson looks like.”
Brown was famously criticised in 2015 when he was photographed eating pizza from a takeaway following a drunken night out ahead of the Scottish League Cup final.
This season he has been praised for his performances as Celtic’s central midfield anchor under Rodgers and was a key member of the side which won the League Cup earlier this season.
Celtic currently sit at the top of the Scottish Premiership and hold a 14-point lead over Old Firm rivals Rangers in second place.
They take on the Gers in a blockbuster fixture on New Year’s Eve at the Ibrox but still have a game in hand to play against Ross County on Wednesday evening.
In other Celtic news, Rodgers has reached a decision on this striker.
