Rodgers: This player is the catalyst to the Celtic team (not Dembele or Sinclair)
By Harvey Byrne
Manager Brendan Rodgers has hailed Celtic midfield stalwart Scott Brown as the “catalyst” to the current team.
The 31-year-old midfield enforcer has often been overshadowed this campaign due to summer signings Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair scoring an incredible 55 goals between themselves in all competitions this season.
However, he may have had to sit out of the Hoops’ vital clash against rivals Rangers on Sunday after receiving a late red card in last weekend’s 2-2 draw against Ross County, but for the SFA not making a decision on the club’s appeal until after the game.
This has handed the Glasgow giants with a huge boost and Rodgers was aware of that as he spoke about the important of Brown in his pre-match press conference, as covered by the official Celtic Twitter account.
????BR on @ScottBrown8: It's really important that Scott is there on Sunday as he is a real catalyst for the team.
