Rodgers will fix Man United 'shambles' after what I've seen 'with my own eyes' - pundit
Frank McAvennie insists Brendan Rodgers could “sort out” Man United if he becomes the club’s new manager.
The former West Ham and Celtic hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, can see the Leicester boss joining the Premier League giants at the end of the season.
United are looking for a new manager after sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday.
A club statement confirmed the Red Devils are looking for an interim coach to lead the club for the rest of the season.
Rodgers, 48, has long been linked with the United job and McAvennie insists he could get a tune out of the current ailing squad.
“Brendan would get them sorted, that’s for sure,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“There is a good squad there and that is an attractive proposition for a manager.
“Things could be going better at Leicester but Rodgers is a legend there.
“Would he leave right now? I don’t see it. Mind you, I saw him do it with my own eyes at Celtic.
If they miss out on the Champions League again, maybe Brendan will think he has taken Leicester as far as he can.
“It’s weird that Man United are waiting until the end of the season. To me, that says they are prepared to write off two-thirds of the season.
“It depends if they can convince Brendan. The club is a bit of a shambles at the moment.
“Any manager who goes in knows they won’t be given loads of time.
“It would be a risk but I can see Brendan in the dugout at Old Trafford.”
