Rodrigo Muniz responds emotionally to Carlos Vinicius’ message amid Leeds pursuit

Fulham could be handed another blow to their strike force with Rodrigo Muniz potentially following Carlos Vinicius out of Craven Cottage.

Marco Silva led Fulham to an 11th placed Premier League finish and the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, before they were beaten by eventual winners Crystal Palace, last season.

The Cottagers have not been busy in the market, but have so far managed to keep hold of many of last season’s key players.

Striker Muniz currently looks the most likely to depart, with newly promoted Leeds pursuing the 24-year-old to add to their attack.

Vinicius supported by Muniz as he finds new club

At the end of the 2024/25 season Fulham confirmed the departures of Vinicius and winger Willian following the expiry of their contracts.

Vinicius has now found a new club in his native Brazil for the upcoming campaign.

Taking to Instagram, the 30-year-old shared a message to Gremio supporters which Muniz liked and responded to with the reply “God bless the pivet,” with a red love heart emoji.

Vinicius made 52 appearances for Fulham across his three years at the club, scoring eight goals and registering three assists in all competitions.

Attacking problems for Fulham

Football Insider Verdict

Muniz may not be a prolific Premier League goal scorer, but the Brazilian has been showing promise at Fulham and his departure could lead to activity in the transfer market.

Muniz’s record across all competitions for Fulham.

Silva would be left with only Jimenez as a natural senior striker in his squad and the 34-year-old would need support and competition up-front.

That could also prove a problem for Silva, with his squad not equipped with many other natural goal scorers, so failure to add bodies to his attacking options could prove disastrous if injuries hit.

Fulham therefore should not be entertaining any offers for Muniz until a replacement has been sourced, but Leeds’ advances may be too tempting to turn down.

Leeds are in need of a Premier League quality striker, as manager Daniel Farke has ousted Patrick Bamford from his plans leaving only Joel Piroe as an option amid Mateo Joseph wanting to leave the club.

If the Whites can add Muniz to their ranks, alongside their defensive additions, they should have enough quality to put up a credible survival fight.
