Rodrigo Muniz responds to confirmed Fulham contract news after Leeds United links
Rodrigo Muniz has reacted to a new contract update emerging from Craven Cottage after the Fulham striker was the subject of a bid from Leeds United.
The 24-year-old has been an important character off the bench for Marco Silva‘s side, scoring eight goals in just eight Premier League starts, usually playing a back-up role to Raul Jimenez.
Despite that, and the Cottagers receiving a £32million bid for the striker [The Standard], Football Insider understands that Muniz is content at Fulham this summer despite the interest shown.
While there were reports of a possible second bid from the newly promoted side, it has not yet been forthcoming from Elland Road, but the speculation remains over his future.
Daniel Farke will be keen to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, but with Silva’s team taking a very clear stance on their Brazilian, the Whites will need to look elsewhere.
Josh King pens new terms at Fulham
Instead, the player is celebrating the news of a current teammate at Craven Cottage, one who has made 11 first-team appearances for the West London side.
Taking to Instagram (17 July), Josh King wrote: Delighted to sign a long-term deal a Fulham. It’s a proud moment for me and my family. Thank you to all the fans for the continued support.”
Gaining likes from Fulham stars, Harry Wilson, Ryan Sessegnon, Antonee Robinson, and Emile Smith Rowe, Muniz replied with heart and flame emojis, while Sunderland’s Chris Rigg commented with clapping and fire emojis.
Marco Silva to improve current Fulham squad
Football Insider verdict
The summer transfer window has been an extremely underwhelming one for the Cottagers, with zero transfers being announced and multiple high-profile players leaving on free transfers.
During the 2024/25 campaign, the current squad finished 11th in the Premier League table, and while it was an improvement on the season before, it was still a disappointing ending.
Other than reaching the FA Cup quarter-finals, bowing out to the eventual winners Crystal Palace, there were no signs of an extended run in domestic competitions.

Football Insider understands that Fulham-linked James McAtee is open to leaving Man City on a permanent basis, though Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are both interested as well.
Fulham are also among the teams keeping tabs on Dominic Calvert-Lewin following his exit from Everton, Football Insider understands, but that link has been met by a mixed reaction from the fans.
Silva must make some serious additions to the current squad if the Cottagers are to be taken seriously next season, and if he is not backed up by the board, he could be looking elsewhere soon.
