Romaine Mundle suggests Sunderland teammate for Ballon d’Or in cheeky new message

Sunderland star Romaine Mundle was heavily impressed by what he saw from one of his teammates against Aston Villa.

On Sunday, 21 September, Sunderland drew 1-1 with Aston Villa, even though they fell 1-0 behind after Reinildo was sent off.

Winger Mundle remains absent through injury, but his Black Cats colleagues continued their strong home form.

Meanwhile, Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs was at fault for Matty Cash’s opening goal, ensuring that his side were unable to win in difficult circumstances.

Wilson Isidor delivers ‘amazing’ message to fans after latest Sunderland goal

Even though Sunderland were reduced to 10 men against Villa, Wilson Isidor’s goal ensured that the Stadium of Light outfit earned a point.

Taking to Instagram on 21 September, the 25-year-old wrote: “Flying at the SoL. Amazing atmosphere today, you carried us to this well-deserved point.”

Mundle commented: “Ballon d’Or is tomorrow fella.”

Wilson Isidor continues to repay the faith instilled in him by Regis Le Bris

Even though Sunderland signed Brian Brobbey amid a busy summer transfer window, Regis Le Bris has trusted Isidor to continue leading the line.

The Frenchman scored 13 goals for the Mackems in the Championship last season, leading to question marks over whether he could deliver in the Premier League.

However, the 25-year-old has hit a new level since playing in the top flight, scoring three goals in five appearances, with each of his goals arriving in different games.

Le Bris’ men are yet to win away from home in the Premier League this term, but Isidor’s current form suggests that he is capable of causing problems in their upcoming clashes at Nottingham Forest and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Sunderland will target claiming all six points from their next two home games against Wolves and Everton, having earned seven points at the Stadium of Light so far.

Only Liverpool and Arsenal have won more points at home than the Black Cats this season, in a heavy endorsement of their survival credentials.
