Romeo Lavia sends two-word message as Chelsea sign Liam Delap
Romeo Lavia took to social media to share his thoughts after Chelsea announced the signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.
Enzo Maresca has successfully bolstered his forward options ahead of this summer’s Club World Cup, as the Stamford Bridge outfit look to build on the success of their Conference League title.
Delap could snub England by playing for Chelsea in the Club World Cup, instead of playing for Lee Carsley’s side in the Under-21 Euros.
The Blues will hope that he will prove clinical in the Premier League next term, after notching 12 top-flight goals for Ipswich Town this term.

Lavia welcomes Delap to Chelsea via Instagram
Maresca’s side officially confirmed the signing of Delap via their social media channels on Wednesday, 4 June.
The West London club’s Instagram account shared a video of the 22-year-old at Stamford Bridge, captioned: “Chelsea’s newest addition.”
Lavia reposted the video on his story as he wrote: “Welcome bro!” alongside a smiling face emoji and a blue heart emoji.

Delap will replace Nicolas Jackson in Chelsea starting lineup
While Chelsea signed Delap from Ipswich for his relatively modest relegation release clause of £30million, it appears evident that Maresca has acquired his services as an upgrade on Nicolas Jackson.

Appearances | 37 |
Goals | 12 |
Assists | 2 |
Even though Jackson spent last season playing for a Blues side who landed Champions League football, he scored two goals fewer than Delap, who led the line for an Ipswich outfit who suffered immediate relegation back to the Championship.
The argument could be made that the Manchester City academy graduate will be more clinical than the Senegal international once he is playing alongside the likes of Cole Palmer.
Meanwhile, the Club World Cup hands Delap an upcoming opportunity to stake his claim as Maresca’s first-choice striker, which would move Jackson to the substitutes’ bench.
The former Ipswich man’s physical attributes could help him benefit from the services out wide from the likes of attacking full-back and England international Reece James.
