Romeo Lavia responds with one-word message after Chelsea fans destroy him

Romeo Lavia shared a short but direct message to Chelsea supporters after the side beat Liverpool in the Premier League.

Chelsea boosted their Champions League hopes with a convincing 3-1 win over Premier League champions Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Lavia started in midfield alongside Enzo Fernandez, with Moises Caicedo operating in an inverted right-back role. It marked another key step forward for the Belgian, who has endured a frustrating season in west London due to injuries.

The 21-year-old has missed 24 games through various setbacks, prompting some frustration from fans, with some Chelsea supporters calling for the club to sell Lavia in the summer due to his lack of appearances.

However, he has now started back-to-back games for the first time this season, both resulting in victories and it’s a timely return to form as Chelsea push to secure a top-five finish.

Romeo Lavia remains focused amid Chelsea fan frustration

Despite frustrations from sections of the fanbase, Lavia delivered a composed and impressive performance against Liverpool, later sharing a short message on Instagram to say “Next.”

His post drew plenty of reactions, with Christopher Nkunku, Wesley Fofana, and Manchester City’s Nathan Ake among those showing support with likes.

Noni Madueke responded in more playful fashion, posting a GIF in the comments, while Chelsea loanee Carney Chukwuemeka and currently at Borussia Dortmund, simply commented: “Different.”

Lavia recently returned to the side following a thigh injury sustained earlier in the season. His presence has come as a welcome boost to Enzo Maresca’s squad as they continue to push for a Champions League place.

However, frustrations remain among Chelsea fans due to Lavia’s injury record since arriving at the club. Across two seasons, the midfielder has struggled with recurring hamstring issues, missing 67 games and making only 14 appearances in all competitions this term.

With Moises Caicedo delivering standout performances in recent weeks, some may have been surprised to see him shifted into a right-back role. But Lavia’s display in midfield may well have justified Maresca’s tactical decision.

While securing a Champions League spot and potential European silverware remain the club’s immediate priorities, the club is already planning for the summer.

Football Insider revealed Chelsea are once again targeting Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, with United prepared to sanction his departure.

Chelsea were previously interested in the Garnacho in January, amid concerns over their forward line’s lack of consistent output.

Although a move didn’t materialise at the time, it now appears the Blues are preparing to renew their pursuit as the transfer window approaches.
