Romeo Lavia shares update with new Chelsea signings ahead of Club World Cup
Romeo Lavia already looks to be forming a connection with some of his new Chelsea teammates, judging by his latest social media post.
The Blues enjoyed a successful first season under their new manager Enzo Marsca during the 2024/25 campaign.
Chelsea won the UEFA Conference League after beating Real Betis in the final, and also qualified for the Champions League thanks to a fourth place finish in the Premier League.
As a result, there is a need for new additions at Stamford Bridge in the transfer window, and they have already been busy making those signings.
A total of five new players have joined the club, with Dario Essugo signing for Chelsea from Sporting CP at the start of this month.
The likes of Liam Delap, Estevao and Kendry Paez have also linked up with Enzo Maresca‘s side on long-term deals.
Earlier this week, Chelsea made their fifth summer signing with the addition of Mamadou Sarr from sister club Strasbourg.

With Essugo and Sarr having completed their moves to the club, it appears they are already getting on well with Lavia.
On Monday (16 June), Chelsea will begin their Club World Cup campaign against Los Angeles FC, with the tournament set to take place in America.
As the Blues made the trip across the Atlantic on Friday (13 June), Lavia took to his Instagram story to post a picture of himself on the club’s plane, along with Essugo and Sarr.
The Chelsea midfielder then added a caption to that post that read: “USA bound w the boys”, before tagging the club’s two new signings.

Romeo Lavia facing more competition for his Chelsea place
Football Insider Verdict
There is no denying that Lavia has shown plenty of quality when he has been able to get on the pitch in the two years since he made his move to Stamford Bridge.
However, Lavia has also been regularly blighted by injury during his time at Chelsea, limiting the amount of game time he has been able to enjoy.
Now, the addition of a new holding midfielder in the form of Essugo, could also add to the challenge facing the 21-year-old as he looks to cement a place in the starting XI.
As a result, the Club World Cup could present an important opportunity for Lavia to send a message to Maresca that he deserves to be a regular starter for Chelsea in the 2025/26 campaign.
